Toshiba America Foundation Grant

Deadlines: Multiple

For grades K-5 (less than $1,000) 10/1

Grades 6-12 (less than $5,000) 3/1, 6/1, 9/1

Grades 6-12 (more than $5,000) 5/1, 11/1

Prize: Variable

Description: Grant funds problem based learning activities. See specifics on website (not for use to purchase computers, tablets, smartboards, etc.)

NEA Foundation's Student Achievement Grant

Deadline: October 15

Other deadlines - 2/1 and 6/1

Prize: $2000 - $5000

Description: Grant for proposals that stimulate student curiosity and excitement about learning

*emphasis on STEM and/or global learning

*support professionals encouraged to apply (school bus drivers, custodial staff, food services, school nurses, office assistants, school security officers, technicians, etc.

NEA Foundation's Learning and Leadership Grant

Deadline: October 15

Other deadlines - 2/1 and 6/1

Prize: $2000 - $5000

Description: Grant to fund the education of educators through professional development opportunities (summer institutes, conferences, seminars, travel abroad programs, action research) or collegial study (study groups, action research, lesson plan development, mentoring experiences)

* Must be a current member of the NEA

*Public school teachers only

Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program

Deadline: in November (Application opens in August)

Prize: Monthly living stipend: $7500, Travel allowance: $5000, Education allowance: $1000, Relocation allowance: $3500, Health insurance allowance: $550/month (individual) $1300/month (family)

Description: Fellows spend 11 months working in Federal agencies or US congressional offices applying their classroom knowledge to education policy.

* For K-12 STEM educators with a minimum of 5 years of the last 7 years of teaching experience. Must be currently employed.

Target's Field Trip Grant

Deadline: October 1 (Opens August 1)

Prize: $700

Description: Mission is to allow all students to have field trip learning experiences.

Pets in the Classroom

Deadline: Application open August 1 - June 1

Prize: $75 for small animals, $125 for fish/reptile, amphibian

Description: Grant towards the purchase of a class pet (see site for list of eligible pets). Sustaining grants are also available for maintaining pet.

* Pre-K to 9th grade teachers

W.K. Kellogg Foundation Grants

Prize: Not specified

Description: Funds innovative ideas that ensure that all students (regardless of race or income) have opportunities to reach their full potential.

* Direct services (books, classroom supplies), events (fundraisers, conferences, workshops), individual assistance, endowments, continuation of established programs, or capital requests (renovations, vehicles, technology) are not typically funded
